Affiliate Disclosure
China Trip Shelf is free to read. It is funded by affiliate commissions, and this page explains exactly what that means.
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then book or buy something, we may receive a commission from the partner — usually a percentage of the booking value. You never pay more because of it. The price you see is the same price every other visitor sees.
Who we work with
We work with a small number of booking partners for tours, tickets, transport and stays: Viator (a tours-and-activities marketplace owned by Tripadvisor), GetYourGuide (a tours-and-activities marketplace based in Berlin), Klook (attractions, tours, day trips and transport across Asia-Pacific) and Trip.com (part of the Trip.com Group, strongest on flights, hotels, rail and attraction tickets in Greater China and Asia). Affiliate links are marked in the page markup — the link carries a sponsored relationship attribute — and the partner behind a given link is chosen for availability, language and currency support, never for a higher commission.
Not every partner is live on every link yet. Some booking links still point to Viator while the other programmes are being connected, and this page is updated whenever that changes.
What this does not affect
- What we recommend. Guides describe publicly listed options and their trade-offs. We include free and self-guided alternatives alongside paid tours, and we say so when a guided tour is not worth the money.
- What we publish. We do not sell articles, sponsored placements or link insertions. No partner reviews or approves our content before publication.
- What we charge you. Nothing. Reading the site is free and there is no paywall.
Prices and availability
Prices, opening hours, ticket rules and schedules change often — sometimes with little notice. Everything on this site is a starting point for planning; always confirm the current price and terms on the official or booking page before you commit.
Why we tell you this
Disclosure is required by advertising rules in the United States and elsewhere, and it is also the honest way to run a travel site. If you would rather not use affiliate links, search the operator's name directly — the information in our guides stands on its own.
